WHAT'S NEW

PAYMENT OF PROPERTY TAXES

Payments on Franklin County Real Estate taxes will only be collected and applied for Real Estate charges assessed on individual tax years billing cycles.  If you wish to prepay taxes for future tax collection cycles, you must establish an escrow account with our office pursuant to ORC Section 321.45 (B & C) http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/321.45v1).

Prepayments accepted under an escrow agreement do not constitute the payment of taxes until they are applied towards assessed charges.

Any questions regarding Federal Tax credits can be directed to the Internal Revenue Service (https://www.irs.gov/ ).

FACING FORECLOSURE?

If you find that you are having trouble paying your mortgage, or if you are in foreclosure, you need to call for help. Free counseling assistance is available to struggling homeowners regardless of income.

The Treasurer, in collaboration with the Board of Commissioners and County Prosecutor, created the Homeowner Helpline. Calling HandsOn Central Ohio at 211 will connect you to a local non-profit housing counseling agency that can determine what type of help is best for you.
